Welcome to Sauti ya Afya

Where Women Rise, Communities Thrive.

We are a community-based organization rooted in the heart of Kibra, dedicated to empowering women through health education, entrepreneurship, and sustainable nutrition.

Our mission is simple yet powerful: equip women with the tools they need to build better lives for themselves and their families.

To create lasting change in our community we aim at integrating nutrition awareness, reproductive health education, and income-generating skills like small business training.

In Kibra, many women face barriers to health, education, and economic opportunity. We exist to break those barriers. Through our holistic programs, we empower women to take control of their futures; financially, physically, and emotionally.

OUR CORE PILLARS

Pillar 1: Maternal Nutrition

At Sauti ya Afya, we believe that good nutrition is the foundation of a healthy and thriving community. Therefore, we always aim at empowering women with practical knowledge on healthy eating. Additionally, we regularly teach them how to prepare balanced meals using affordable, locally available ingredients.

With the aid of experts we raise awareness on the importance of balanced diets for children, mothers, and families. Our kitchen garden initiative goes a step further, equipping women with the skills to grow their own vegetables right at home.

Pillar 2: Entrepreneurship

We empower women to take control of their financial futures through practical entrepreneurship training. Our current focus is soap-making, where we provide both skills and starter kits to help women launch small businesses.

Beyond that, we also promote financial inclusion through Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs). This is where community groups made up of women and youths above 18 years  save, borrow, and invest together. These initiatives not only generate income but also build confidence, independence, and a strong support network.

Pillar 3: Maternal Health

At Sauti ya Afya, we support women through every stage of motherhood: before, during, and after childbirth. We provide safe, welcoming spaces where women can learn about maternal health, mental well-being, self-care, and parenting.

Our programs cover pregnancy, postnatal care, child nutrition, and family health, while also addressing mental health as a key part of a mother’s well-being.  As we promote knowledge and emotional support, we help women thrive both physically and mentally.
